Terms of use

Envelope is a free tool for running prediction pools. It keeps score: that is the whole job. It doesn’t collect, hold, or move a cent: no buy-in, no entry fee, no payout, no wallet. Whatever your pool plays for is between you and your friends. The service is provided as-is, without warranty.

Updated July 2026

The service is free

Pools, ballots, leaderboards, and printable tools are free to use. We may change, pause, or retire features as the product evolves.

A scoreboard, not a cashier

Envelope is a scorekeeping tool. It does not collect, hold, transfer, or process money of any kind. There is no buy-in, no entry fee, no payout, and no wallet anywhere in the product. Correct picks earn points, and points earn a spot at the top of the leaderboard. That is everything Envelope does.

What your group plays for is entirely your business. A buy-in, a bottle of wine, dinner, or nothing at all. Those stakes are strictly between the participants. Envelope is not a party to them and has no involvement in them whatsoever, so settle up among yourselves however you always have. (Around here, the winner picks the next movie night.) You are responsible for following the laws that apply where you live.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” with no warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it up on awards nights, but we can’t guarantee uptime, accuracy of nominee data, or that the leaderboard will spare your feelings.

Be kind

Pick a display name you’d show your grandmother. Don’t harass other players, impersonate people, probe the service for exploits, or otherwise be the reason a rule gets added to this page. We may remove content or block access for abuse.

Names and trademarks

Envelope is not affiliated with or endorsed by any awards academy or broadcaster; award names are used descriptively to identify ceremonies. See about and privacy for the rest of the fine print. These terms may be updated; the date above reflects the latest revision.
