Our crossover file records matches in 2020, 2021 and 2022. It records different winners in the other years in that window.
The comparison is narrow: Globe television drama against Emmy drama series. It does not cover comedy, acting or limited series. Applying it to an actor's chances would extend the result beyond the evidence.
Check which season won
Awards presented in the same calendar year can recognize different seasons. Before treating a Globe as evidence for an Emmy pick, identify the season it honored and check whether that season is in the Emmy field you are considering.
Our earlier article compared the match rate with a coin toss. That was a poor benchmark. A drama-series category has multiple nominees, and our data did not establish their individual chances. A mismatch also does not prove that the Globe provided no useful information before the vote.
The practical use is modest: a Globe win is a result to investigate. It should send you to the relevant season and current Emmy nominees, rather than directly to a checked box.
For the dates themselves, use the awards calendar. Keeping the ceremonies in order is easier than assuming they are honoring the same work.
